Background Information

Ames R. Laws
I received a BA in Religion from Davidson College and a MAEd in Counseling from Wake Forest University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT), a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups in clinical settings for nearly thirty years. I have received specialized training in the areas of structural family therapy, group therapy, family-of-origin issues, adolescent behavior, eating disorders, and substance abuse intervention and treatment.

I am a clinical member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina (LPCANC), the North Carolina Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (NCAMFT), and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

My current practice is based in Winston Salem, NC.

I continue to learn from my clients.
